Adam was born and raised in Vernon. After
graduating from Vernon Secondary School,
Adam went on to attend UBC and received
his bachelor of Education and Masters of
Administration. In 1964, Adam taught and
became Vice Principal of 100 Mile House
Junior Secondary for 12 years. After moving
to Port Alberni in 1976 with his family,
Adam was the principal at A.W. Neill, Klitsa,
Maquinna, and Eighth Avenue School. Adam
and his wife Eleanor, both retired in 1996.
Adam was predeceased by his two infant
sons David and Michael; father Joseph
Mitchell; step father John Sunduk, and
nephew Ryan Corbin. Adam leaves to
mourn his wife of 47 years Eleanor; daughter
Sandra and Grant Odgers of Nanaimo; and
grandsons Bryan and Nathan. Daughter
Susan and Richard Cook of Kamloops;
and granddaughters Kaylin and Danielle.
Adam’s mother Ann Sunduk and his sister
Eileen and Bob Corbin of Vernon; brother in
law Ron and Elaine Zimmer of Kelowna; as
well as many nieces and nephews.
Adam loved to fi sh, hunt, ride his motorbike,
and go snowbirding in California every year.
Adam was a member of the Lions Club for
40 years, and always eagerly lent a helping
hand to anyone in need.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Search
and Rescue hall, on Tebo Road, April 7, 2010.

Society or charity of your choice. The family
would like to thank Dr. White and Melissa
Netzer, and to all of the staff of the Home Care
Society for their care and compassion.
Thank you for all the support and well wishing
of all kinds, they were very much appreciated.
The cycle of life is now completed, and now
his new journey will begin.
