Adelard Joseph Napoleon Demers was called home to be with his Lord, on September 2, 2005. “Ed” was born (1929) and raised in Alberta, and was a longtime resident of both Alberta and Ontario prior to moving to Vernon in 1982. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Annette, and his children: Gilles (Jeannine) of Grande Prairie, Marcel (Sandy) of Vernon, Colette (Jean) of Welland., Ont., Suzanne (Robert) and Lynne (Len) all of Vernon. He was predeceased by two sons, Denis and Gerald, and by two sisters: Rita St. Jean and Irene Aubin. Ed is further survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother Rene, and numerous extended family members. Prayers will be recited at St. James Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 P.M., and Funeral Mass will be celebrated there on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 10:00 A.M., with the Reverend Father Martin Peyton, celebrant. Cremation will follow. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Ed to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., #20-601 W. Cordova St., Vancouver, V6B 1G1.
