August 28, 1931 - June 16, 2019
Agnes (Aggie) Lewis, 87, of Vernon, BC passed away on June 16, 2019
Our Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Auntie will be incredibly missed. Not only by family, but by her many friends.
Mom was born in Waymark Saskatchewan August 28, 1931 to her Mother Maria (nee Regier) and her Father, Isaac Peters.
She graduated from High School in Chilliwack, BC. From there she travelled with 4 of her close friends to Lake Louise. After much fun of working and socializing she met her husband Arthur Roland Lewis. They married in Calgary Alberta and raised two children, Roland Bradley and Patricia Allison.
Mom leaves as her legacy her two children, Patti and husband Gene Anderson, Brad and wife Cathy Lewis. Four grandchildren, Ashleigh Lewis, Ryan (Leesa) McCulloch, Sean McCulloch (Anastasia), Lani Nerilli (Gianluigi) Her great grandchildren, Caelan and Ava McCulloch, William McCulloch and George and Mack Nerilli. Step grandchildren Rob and Elyse Fortin, Olivia and Eric Anderson.
Mom was preceded by her Father and Mother, her brother Len, her sisters, Mary, Anne and Edna.
Aggie (Mom) worked for School District 22 in Vernon, BC. Her many years at Mission Hill School until her retirement at age 60 was a passion for her. Teachers, Principals, students, knew and cherished her. The students aged kindergarten to Grade 7 knew Mom as Mrs. Lewis. Mom knew all of the students by their first and last names. The children loved her and this was reciprocated.
Mom was an avid Bowler, Lawn Bowler, Badminton player in Vernon.
Mom so loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mack, her latest great grandchild was born in April 2019 to her granddaughter and husband Lani and Gianluigi. Mom was ecstatic to hold another precious baby in her arms. Her great grandchildren knew Mom as "Gee Gee".
Mom was passionate about fairness, and the best confidante one could hope to have. She is missed dearly, and the emptiness that is left behind makes one wonder if it could possibly get easier without her. So many memories of her kindness, sense of humor and love. We were blessed to have her in our lives.
Thank you to Dr. Pienaar of Vernon and staff, Dr. Allen and Dr. Smith of Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Thank you to Meghan 2nd floor of VJH for showing so much compassion and care for Mom. Thank you to the staff at the Hamlets. You were so special to Mom. Thank you to the special friendships that Mom found at Polson before moving to the Hamlets.
