Ailsa LANOUETTE

Mrs. Ailsa Marjorie Lanouette passed away in Noric House on Monday, August 20th, 2007 at the age of 86 years. She is lovingly survived by her brother-in-law, René Lanouette of Lumby, B.C. as well as several other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bertha Henniford, Alice Crate, Simone (Bill) Fowler, Germaine Pratt, Gerry (Marilyn) Lanouette and Lucy (Hal) Stewart; her special niece and nephew, Debbie (Chris) Vernon and Randy (Kristine) Stewart and their family as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and many special friends. Ailsa was born on May 26th, 1921 in Alsager, Cheshire, England and spent many years as a Registered Nurse in London, specializing in Pediatrics. She eventually became the Matron of the Pediatric Centre in Plymouth, Devon. She and her husband Roy came to Canada in 1982, settling in Courtenay, B.C. and later moving to the Cherryville-Lumby area in 1991. Roy and Ailsa enjoyed traveling and were always in search of “the mother lode!” On February 4th, 1998 her husband predeceased her. Ailsa was “totally British”, according to René, and polite to a fault. She had an incredibly generous spirit and had an awesome memory for remembering people’s birthdays and anniversaries. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In respecting Ailsa’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held. Special thanks are extended to those who so lovingly cared for Ailsa in Polson Special and for the past several weeks in Noric House as well as Drs. Steward and Kader. Cremation arrangements were made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5 (542-1187)
