Al Yaremchuk

Nov. 1st, 1928 – Sept. 6th, 2007

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of “Al”, Anatol Jacob Yaremchuk, at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anna, daughter Janet and partner Rick DeBoice of Victoria, son Perry and wife Michele, grandson Joshua, of Penticton, and his cats, Roxy & Snobell.

Al is also survived by three brothers; Emil (Mary), Albert (Pat), and William, and was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Al leaves behind cherished long time neighbours on Pottery Rd. and many new friends at Lakepoint. He was a skilled mechanic, gasfitter, and handyman who was always willing to help friends, neighbours and strangers alike. As a pilot, he shared his love of flight with local pilots, flying clubs, family and friends.

After retirement, Al enjoyed spending time with his family, camping with Anne, and playing pool with Joe, Cecil and Jack. He especially loved being a Grandpa and spending time with Joshua brought him great joy.

A service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15th, 2007 at 11am at St. Josephat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church at 2210 – 40th Ave. Vernon, followed by a luncheon in the church hall. For those wishing to attend, a brief service for interment of ashes will be held at St. Nicholas’ Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery following the luncheon.

If desired, donations may be made in Al’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
