ALANA YORKE-HARDY

Yorke-Hardy, Alana Kathleen

It is with great sadness that the family of Alana Kathleen Yorke-Hardy announces her peaceful passing at home in Vernon, B.C. on Nov 30, 2014; following a very brave battle against pancreatic cancer.

Born in Kamloops, B.C. on October 29, 1948, Alana Kathleen Yorke-Hardy(nee Mason) was predeceased by her father Allen Crawford Mason, and mother Olive Kathleen Mason. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Robert Yorke-Hardy, daughter Lee-Ann Teichroeb(nee Yorke-Hardy), sons Christopher, Michael and Matthew (Opal) Yorke-Hardy and by her seven grandchildren Brianna, Dylan and Aaron(Teichroeb), Jordyn and Elli (Yorke-Hardy), Nicholas and Olivia (Yorke-Hardy), as well as her brother Peter Mason of Sundre, Alta. and sister Betty Mason of Jensen Beach, Florida.

Alana and Bob moved to Vernon in 1980 and spent many wonderful years here raising their family and enjoying the Okanagan as well as being involved in the business community; having co-discovered and developed Canada’s only commercially operating precious opal deposit — Okanagan Opal.

A celebration of Alana’s life will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the O’Keefe Ranch in Vernon, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones wishing to honor the joy and happiness Alana brought to so many lives are encouraged to make memorial donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation at www.pancreaticcancercanada.ca
