It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the pas-sing of Albert “Bud” Michael Gawne on January 19, 2017 in Vernon, BC at the age of 79 years

Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Rita; sons, Kevin (Diana) and Colin (Dana); grandchildren: Amanda (Dylan), Tyler, Kody (Nina), Dustin, Denae, Darien; and great-grandson, Wyatt. Bud is survived by his brothers, Bill and Geoff; sisters, Jean (Nigel) and Nancy (Bert); mother-in-law Mary; and brother-in-law Ron (Isabella); as well as many nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and J.E. “Bud” Gawne; daughter, Barb LaGore; and grandson, Angus LaGore.

Bud was born March 7, 1937 in Trail, BC. He was raised on the family farm in Naramata where he spent his childhood working on the farm, riding horses and hunting. In 1969, Bud moved his family to a farm in the Coldstream where he and his wife could raise their family and pursue their love of raising thoroughbred horses and farm life. Bud worked for the City of Vernon until he retired. Following his retirement, Bud spent many happy hours with family, working with his horses, farming, travelling with his wife, hunting, carving and fishing.

Bud, Dad, Grandpa was much loved by his family and many friends, and we will forever remember the wonderful times.

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held at a later date.
