A life long resident of Enderby and Armstrong areas, Alers Leonard “Al” Hassard passed away peacefully on December 7, 2003 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Armstrong at 101 years of age. Born in Enderby in 1902, he married Doris Harrison in 1941 at Vernon, they operated the family farm until 1949. Al tried retirement for about a year and then took up carpentry until his second retirement at age 75. Al was not a joiner but did enjoy curling in spare time. He is survived by: his loving wife Doris; brother John of Kelowna, sister-in-law Lillian Hallam, Armstrong, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 16 brothers and sisters.
