It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alexander Luciw on January 7, 2005. Predeceased by his mother, Jeannie and father, Bill, Alex is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce, daughters Heather (Mike) Bloom, Sandra (Rick) Waterston, Ruth (Tim) Kitchur, sons Gary (Barb), Robert (Elsie), James (Judy), numerous grandchildren and their partners, great grandchildren, sisters Pauline Sawka and Caroline Iversen and brother Peter.
Born in Hazel Dell, Saskatwewan, May 3, 1929, Alex spent most of his adult life in Kamloops, BC. He worked many years as a concrete mixer truck driver, retiring in 1994. He then spent many years restoring a 1938 Ford sedan to mint condition and loved taking their travel trailer to the lake on camping trips with his wife, Joyce, whenever the chance arose. Alex was a kind and patient man who loved to spend time with his family and friends. He also had a great passion for debates which he practiced often,
He will be dearly missed.
There will be a prayer service Friday, January 14 at 7:00 pm with the funeral on Saturday, January 15, at 11:00am, both at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 109 Tranquille Road, Kamloops.
