Alfred Ernest (Bill) TAYLOR
July 31st, 1933 – September 6th, 2008
Bill was born in Vancouver, B.C., raised in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver and was a resident of Vernon since 1979. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, to whom he was married for 50 years; his children, Barbara and Bruce; his brother, Dick (Dora); his sister, Sandra (Jim); many nieces, nephews, friends and his loyal companion, Suzie.
After 40 years of service with BC Tel, Bill retired to devote his time to his lifelong passion of golf. He was a member of and an active promoter of the Okanagan Senior’s Golf Tour. Throughout his life Bill was active with many activities and organizations – bronc rider, rodeo, Whistler ski patrol, Auxiliary RCMP constable, lacrosse coach and referee, Job’s Daughters, Range Instructor for the Vernon Air Cadets, Vernon Crimestoppers – to name only a few. He will be remembered for his warm, outgoing personality, willingness to get involved and his great laugh.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Bill’s Life which will be held at the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Hall, 2500-46th Avenue, on Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Bill to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 9Z9.
