We regret to announce the death at Polson North Care Unit of Vernon Jubilee Hospital, on June 12, 2010, of Alfred Kaminski, at the age of 80 years.
Fred was born in Vernon, and was a well known businessman in the Okanagan area for many years. He started Town and Country Tree Service Ltd. in 1955 and operated it until 1995. In his youth, Fred was a member of the British Columbia Dragoons for some years, and more recently became a member of the Vernon Flying Club, in addition to volunteering at the Schubert Centre.
Fred will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children; son, Alan of Vernon and grandchildren Aaronn and Richard (Kim); daughter, Bev (Les) Ross of Kamloops and grandchildren Lisa and Lila; and daughter, Barb Field (Dave Morrison) of Kamloops and granddaughter Kaleigh Field.
He is also survived by brother Ed (Wilma); sisters Winnie, Millie (Bill), Jean (Norm), Joan (Bill) and Ena (Chuck), and his good friend and companion Mary Wetherill, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with Mr. Lloyd Klein officiating.
