Alice Marie-Lucille Lemaire, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully at her home in Armstrong on Sunday, June 12, 2005. Aged 71 years. Alice will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by husband of 49 years, Jeff; children Adrien (Patti) Lemaire of Armstrong, Suzanne (Ken) James of Vernon and Paul (Pamela) Lemaire of Armstrong; grandchildren Braden, Brandi, Connor, Dexter and Melanie; brother Roland (Jeanne) Charron of St. Paul, Alberta and sister Cecile (Herve) Michaud of St. Vincent, Alberta; extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her father Henri Charron, mother Doria, siblings André, Pierre and Denise. Alice was born January 24, 1934 at St. Paul, Alberta. On November 24, 1955 she married Joffre “Jeff” Lemaire and they moved to Penny, B.C. and then to Armstrong in 1958 where they have resided since. Alice was a loving mother who was incredibly devoted to her family. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and travel but was most at home in her kitchen. Alice had been active in the CWL, taught catechism, and worked at the Co-op for a time. Prayers will be recited 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2005, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Leo Boyd, O.M.I. celebrant. Cremation with interment in family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen cemetery will follow the service. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
