Alice Lea Kate Prosser


Alice Lea Kate Prosser passed away peacefully on Jan 18, 2013 in Vernon, BC at the age of 81. Alice was born on April 22, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec where she was the second oldest of six children. She was married at the age of 20 and went on to have 4 children. Alice settled in Vernon with her family in 1969 and then moved to Falkland in 1972 where she started the business of Falkland Monumental Stones which she owned and operated for 22 years before retiring to Vernon in 1994. Her son Bruce carries on with the business. Alice enjoyed her retirement by playing golf, cards, chess and going for walks. She enjoyed baking and made the most delicious homemade bread. Above all, Alice loved her family. Her house was always open and she made everyone feel so welcome with her warm smile and open arms. She was predeceased by one brother and one sister and her daughter Linda who passed away in 1983 at the age of 24. Alice is survived by her three sons, Dennis (Patti) of Falkland, Bruce (Cherie) of Falkland, and Larry (Rita) of Castlegar. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Rhonda, Tyler, Janet, Jennifer, and Laurie. She also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren.
