Almina (“Mina”) Margaret Cottrell
We regret to announce the death at Polson Extended Care on January 5, 2014, of Almina (“Mina”) Margaret Cottrell, at the age of 84 years.
Mina was born in Rosthern, SK and was a resident of the Vernon area for over 55 years. She loved nature and camping and travelling, but her passion was caring for family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1996. Mina will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Colleen (Gordie) French of Vernon, Kevin (Diana) of Courtenay, Randy (Diane) of Vernon, Keith (Rhonda) of Blind Bay, Kent (Judy) of Chilliwack; former daughter-in-law Penny Clayton of Vernon. She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Lea (Corry) Gelling, Angie (Trevor) Vandenberg, Erin (Terry) Warden, Joann Cottrell, Jade and Austin Cottrell and Amanda (Dave) Harris; six great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members. Cremation. A private family gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Mina to the Polson Residential Care Fund at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Polson, and to Dr. Gavin Smart for his compassion and care.
