ANASTASIA TINA POPOFF passed away in Ashcroft BC on September 16th 2004 at the age of 93. She is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Gerry (Sandy) Popoff of Armstrong BC and Robert Popoff Jr. of Cache Creek BC. Her three grandchildren Joanne (Alister) Rance of Vernon BC, Jamie (Sam) Lazar of Manningtree England and Gerry Popoff Jr. of Armstrong BC. Her four great grandchildren, Anastasia and William Rance, and Elijah and Johah Lazar, her one surviving brother Peter Popoff and many nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband George on March 9, 1976 and five sisters, Mary, Helen, Polly, Millie and Olga, and three brothers, William, John and George. Tina was born in Veregin, Saskatchewan on April 1st. 1911. The family spent a few years in Halsey, Oregon before buying and moving to a farm north of Asquith, Saskatchewan. She attended Eagle Point School and also the Technical Collegiate in Saskatchewan. She married George in 1941 and they spent a number of years in Blaine Lake Saskatchewan where Tina owned a dress shop. In 1952 the family purchased a farm just outside Saskatoon and they continued to farm there until 1964, when they moved into the city of Saskatoon. In 1972 Tina and George moved to White Rock BC, in 1989 Tina moved to Armstrong BC and spent the past year in Ashcroft. Tina loved gardening, sewing, and making great meals for her family. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, both immediate and extended. She always loved when they would visit, write or call her. Her BIG heart and loving spirit will always be missed.
