It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Andre Fernand Gauthier on November 24, 2019 in Vernon, BC.
Andre retired from the chemical industry after 35 years and moved to the Okanagan in 2006 where he spent a busy retirement. Andre was a previous member of the Squamish and Sorrento Lions Club, a volunteer for the driver program of the Freemasons (Vernon), and fishing was a favorite pastime of his as well as being a spectator at the stock car races. Andre also enjoyed his Friday night Texas Hold'em, and a good game of crib with his friends in Desert Cove.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; to whom he was married for 51 years, sons Douglas, Thomas (Kristy), grandsons Cohen and Gavin, sisters Yolande Trafford, Rita (Michael) McCready and Henriette Belanger, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Irene, brothers Gabriel, Cyril, Hermenegile and Gaetan, and sister Sarah Lamothe.
There will be no formal service held, but a private family gathering is planned in the spring of 2020. If friends desire, they may make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation. A special thank you to his many doctors and nurses at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital for the care over the last two years.
