Andrew Henry Makarenko

Andrew Henry Makarenko passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Thursday, August 9th, 2007 at the age of 94 years. Andrew is survived by five brothers, William of Coquitlam, Steve (Fern) of Vernon, Michael (Ria) of Surrey, George (Lila Fern) of Vernon and John (Marie) of Coquitlam; two sisters, Rose Beaulieu of Mississauga, Ontario, Cecelia McCullough of Delta, B.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Andrew was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris in 1994 and by one brother, Harry. Andrew served his country during W.W. II (December 1943 to March 1946) as a member of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and took part in the D-Day landing on June 6, 1944. Flowers are gratefully declined. The funeral service for the late Andrew Makarenko will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 18th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating.
