BECKING NEE KARPOWICH
Angela Cecelia passed away May 8, 2003 peacefully at Queens Park Care Center, New Westminster BC. in her 94th year. Angela is survived by her daughter Marlene Elizabeth (Ronald) Foster and granddaughter Karey Lynne Foster. She is also survived by sisters Mary Francis (Julian) Strilchuk, Amelia Patricia Maksymchuk, brother Stanley (Lois) Karpowich and numerous nieces and nephews. Angela was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Theresa Shafirka, and brother John Timothy “Barney” Karpowich. Angela was born June 4, 1909 in Mlyniska, Poland and moved with her parents, Frank and Pauline Karpowich, to Brazil shortly after her birth. They eventually immigrated to Canada settling in Drumheller Alta and then to the Grindrod area of BC. Angela moved to Winnipeg in the early 1940’s and was employed as a seamstress. In the mid 1970’s she returned to the Vernon area and resided there until the late 1990’s. Prayers held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003, with a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2003, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Enderby. Reverend Father Leo Boyd, O.M.I. officiating. A tea will be held at St. Ann’s Hall following the committal at Grinrod Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimers Society.
