With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Anita Mary Miki, on May 11, 2022, at the age of 57.
Anita will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her partner Rod, son Brandon Miki, daughter Amiko Nickiforek, and five surviving siblings.
Anita was born to Jim and Joy Miki in 1964 in Coleman, Alberta. They moved to the Okanagan Valley in 1966, where Anita was raised with her five siblings. The family lived on a small acreage outside the town of Vernon.
Anita embraced and pursued every new adventure with an open heart. She had a zest for life with her infectious laughter, sparkling eyes, and contagious smile. Her love of animals was well known among both her family and friends.
Anita had a passion for gardening and two green thumbs. Anita was all about listening to her "tunes," whether in the house, in the truck, or even in the garden.
In Keeping with Anita's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Anyone wishing to honor her memory may donate to the BC SPCA Vernon Community Animal Centre.
