WILSON, Ann Leslie
It is with the greatest sorrow that the Wilson and Olson families announce the passing of their beloved “Grandma Ann” on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Vernon Hospice House.
She was born Ann Leslie Hawthornthwaite in Nanaimo BC to James and Margaret
Hawthornthwaite on August 7, 1942.
Ann’s deep love for children led her to a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1992. She became an advocate for children and families wherever she went. She lived and worked in Thunder Bay and Cochrane Ontario; Vancouver, Rivers Inlet and Lytton, BC. She gave of herself endlessly and without hesitation. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her giving nature and the willingness to help out whenever she could.
She is survived by her mother Margaret and her husband Lloyd Wilson, her children, James Olson, Billy Olson, Rick (Michelle) Olson and Lisa Figeroux (Antonio) and step children Veronica Wilson, Nadine Wasnick, Debbie Conlin(Brad), David Wilson, Rudy Watts and Robin Watts.
Grandchildren, Alisha, Shae, Antonio, Brandon, Chris, Josh, Haley, Ashley, Brittany, Chenoa, Laura, Desi, Nicole, Holly, Lindsey, Brittany, Natalie, Lloyd, Rose-Maria, Rosalie, Michael, Morgan, Lisa, Lory, Dejay and Victoria and great grandchildren. Cameron, Jacob, Dante and Keenan.
She was predeceased by her father James
Hawthornthwaite in 1975 and her son Alfie Watts in 1997.
The service will be held at the Head of the Lake Hall on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Clyde Cowan of the North American Indigenous Mission. Ann will be laid to rest at the Head of the Lake Cemetery.
