Anna “Doreen” (Neil) Egerdeen
– 78, of Evergreen Home for Special care, Kentville,Nova Scotia, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the home. Born
inExeter, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Pfaff) Neil. Together with her husband, they operated many restaurants, campgrounds and small businesses. Doreen touched many lives but nothing will compare to all the love and care she received while being a resident of Evergreen Home for Special Care. The staff members at Evergreen are to be commended on their compassion and commitment. Doreen loved dogs with a passion and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. She was always willing to lend an ear to anyone and in her own way, would offer her own piece of advice, whether you wanted it or not. In her earlier years, she resided in Kitchener-Waterloo and later moved to Kamloops,British Columbia, where she resided for over 40 years and made her career. Among her accomplishments in business, she was instrumental in the opening ofPierre’s Lake Resort, Salmon Arm, British Columbia. She is survived by a daughter, Christine (her husband, Ted) Follett, Kentville. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Wilfred Glenn; a son, Darcy Paul; a brother, Ronald Neil. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, and there will be no visitation or funeral service, by family request.
