Anne Antony

(nee Wintonyk)

was born on March 29th, 1926 on the family farm near Calder, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2011 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 85 years.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brian Antony of Vernon, B.C., Gail Antony of Prince George, B.C. and Kathy (Kevin) Porteous of Lumby, B.C.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Rubiletz of Yorkton, Saskatchewan; two brothers, Walter (Mary) Wintonyk of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan and Edward Wintonyk of Bredenbury, Saskatchewan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene; a baby daughter, Linda; one brother, Mike Wintonyk; and one sister, Kay Mayes.

From her early years on the farm she then married Andrew Antony and they moved to MacNutt, Saskatchewan where they farmed and owned/operated a family restaurant and post office. In 1976 they moved to Westwold where they owned and operated the General Store and Post Office. She later moved to Falkland, then retired to Vernon where she resided until her death. Mom was always willing to lend a helping hand and she always gave more than what she expected in return. We, her family ask that you remember her for her sense of humor, quick wit, giggle and making sure that you were well fed. The love Mom had for her family and the pride that she took in cooking will always be remembered. Mom, we will miss your hospitality. Rest peacefully and know that we will always miss you dearly. You will forever be in our hearts.

Cremation preceded a Memorial Tea which will take place in the Bethel Tea Room on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Mom will be laid to rest in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on Thursday, September 22nd, 2011.
