On Friday December 6, 2002, ANNE MOLDOWAN passed away peacefully at Coquihalla-Gillis House in Merritt. She was born on January 14, 1907 and was 95 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1976. In 1922 she married Pete Moldowan. Together they raised four children, Frank (Rose) of Merritt, Andrew (Leona) of Toronto, Vicky Hedges of Merritt. Their daughter Angie predeceased them in 1966. Anne is further survived by eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, one sister Emma Chycowski of Foam Lake, SK, one brother Matt (Margaret) of Shortdale, Manitoba and several nieces and nephews. Anne was a sociable lady who enjoyed the company of others. She grew beautiful flowers and loved to do cross-stitch, which she shared by giving her creations to family and friends. When she lived in Vernon, she belonged to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church and an active member of the Ladies Church Group. She moved to Merritt in 1986 to be closer to family. Following a stroke, she moved to Coquihalla-Gillis House in Merritt where she resided for the last nine and half years. A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 12, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband Peter. Family and friends will gather at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home prior to the service. A reception will be held in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room following the service.
