Annie Maria (Ann) Johnson was born on September 1st, 1930 in Vancouver, B.C. and passed away on March 3rd, 2009 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Ann will be lovingly remembered by four sons, Dale (Elena Troyan) Johnson and Randy Johnson of Coldstream, B.C., Ken Johnson of Vernon, B.C. and Steve Johnson of Cold Lake, Alberta; one granddaughter, Celina Johnson of Vancouver, B.C.; one brother, Albert Maw of Surrey, B.C.; extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Johnson in 1971; her only daughter, Judy Ellis in 2008; two dear companions, Harold Kelly and Hubert Pitts; and two brothers, Joe Maw in 1998 and Roy Maw in 2008.
Ann loved her family and her passions in life were dancing and being involved with doing a lot of volunteer work for various organizations in the community. She was a long time member of the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans #5, the Fraternal Order Of Eagles #3557 and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #25.
Ann was laid to rest beside her husband Cliff at Ocean View Burial Park in Burnaby, B.C. A Reception honoring Ann’s life will be held at the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Hall, 2500-46th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. on Monday, March 16th, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Ann to the charity of their choice.
