Anton “Tony” Klein passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Aged 77 years. Born at Thorhild, Ab., on June 6, 1932, Tony moved to Vancouver in 1952. He and Betty were married in 1956 and resided in Vancouver until moving to Mara in 1974 where they operated the Cherokee Resort for seventeen years. Upon retiring, they moved to Enderby where they have resided since.
Tony will be lovingly remembered by wife Betty of Enderby; three sons Terry (Cathy) of Enderby, Bryan (Brenda) of Vernon and Wayne (Jamie) of Port Coquitlam; seven grandchildren Crystal, Londa, Darla, Philip, Joey, Reese, and Jessica; three great grandchildren Mason, Adysen and Ava; sister Helen Butler of Houston, Texas; half-brother Aloys Tonhouser; extended family and many friends.
Predeceased by daughter Kimberly in 1964, sister Marie Halonen and parents. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, mechanic, pilot and an avid golfer. He was an active member of Spallumcheen Golf Course and Enderby Seniors Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong. Reverend Cory Rundell officiating. Donations in memory of Tony may be made to the Baerg/McMurtry Cancer Clinic, c/o Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
