Archie George Houchen passed away peacefully at his residence in Armstrong on Friday, February 27, 2004 with his wife by his side, aged 75 years. Archie was born at Mellville, Sk., on July 12, 1928 and came to BC in 1949. He married Alma Bernadette Gauthier and the family lived at Surrey, in the Yukon & 100 Mile House before retiring to Armstrong in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and travel. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, always active in community and churc. He ws a 3rd and 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Archie will be missed and remembered by his loving family, wife Alma, Armstrong; sons and daughters, Cliff (Donna) and Archie (Maureen), Kamloops; Cathy Bowen (Dennis), Forest Grove, BC; Elaine Plamondon (Gerry), Prince George; Bill (Kim), Canoe; Margaret Pachico (Brent), Mackenzie; Tracy Ebert (Sam), Ohio, USA; 12 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters; brothers and sisters, Mary Smith, Surrey; Nina Bachelor, Seattle; Leo Houchen and Ken Houchen, Surrey; Irene Kehler, Houston, BC; extended family and many friends. Prayers will be recited at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Armstrong, BC. on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph’s. Cremation to follow with inurnment in Armstrong – Spallumcheen Cemetery. Revered Father Leo Boyd O.M.I. celebrant.
