June 9, 1935—August 17, 2010
The family regrets to announce the passing of Arnie Lepp on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Vernon Hospice House after a long battle with prostate cancer. Arnie was born June 9, 1935 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late Ernest and Annie Lepp. Arnie was the eldest of three boys and he grew up on the family farm in Alberta. He met and married his sweet heart Terry Zoratti on September 18, 1960. In the late 60’s Arnie and Terry moved to Osoyoos. BC where they owned and operated the Richter Pass Motor Inn. In the early 70’s Arn and Terry moved the family to Vernon. It was during that time that Arnie became an avid hang glider and golfer. Arnie was an entrepreneur at heart owning several businesses such as Arn’s Yamaha Country and Gravel Inc.
In 1994 when Terry passed away life changed for Arnie. It was at that time he chose to winter in Lareto. Mexico where he enjoyed the sunshine and doing what he liked best, golfing. Mexico was Arnie’s home away from home and is the place where he met his partner of 8 years Mary Lou who predeceased him in 2008.
During the summer months Arnie would return to Vernon to catch up with family and play many rounds of golf with his friends at Hillview Golf course. Arnie will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor and friendly nature.
He will be fondly remembered by his four children Barry (Tamara), Kevin (Kathy), Curtis (Anita), Shari (Jay), 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and brother’s Dave (Donna) and John (Marilou).
A celebration of life will be held on Monday August 30th @ 1:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church, 3908-27th Street, Vernon, BC with Pastor Erik Reimer officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arnie’s memory to the Vernon Hospice House, 3506-27th Ave., Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
The family wish to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Vernon Hospice house for the superb care given to their Dad during his last weeks of life.
