Arthur Deitsch


We regret to announce the passing of Arthur Earl “Art” Deitsch on July 15, 2006, in Vernon, BC at the age of 89 years. Art was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Dora; brothers, Lawrence and Henry; sisters, Lily and Beulah. Art is survived by his loving family; three sons, Lawrence (Barbara) of Saskatoon, SK, Gerald (Linda) of Calgary, AB, and Stewart (Lorraine) of Didsbury, AB; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Lottie Michael of Elrose, SK, Hazel (Duncan) Partridge of Salmon Arm, BC, Francis (Arthur) Harrison of Saskatoon, SK, Violet Sinclair of Revelstoke, BC, Esther (Fred) Moore of Penticton, BC, Eva Richardson of 100 Mile House, Helen Pearson of Vernon, BC; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Art was a 45 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the R.C.A. 67th Artillery PPCLI in Europe, England, Africa and the Mediterranean. A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held on Friday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, BC V1T 4M4 with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment of cremated remains to follow in Mt. Ida Cemetery in Salmon Arm, BC. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations in Art’s name to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #25, 3300 – 31st Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 2H5.
