Mr. Arthur William Price, late of Abbotsford, formerly of Vernon and Vancouver, passed away on April 13, 2005 at MSA Hospital.
He is survived by daughter Sharon Allen (Alex Andison) and their daughter Kelsey, son Frank Price and his children: Michael (Stacy), James, Elizabeth, and their mother Lynda Johnston, 1 great-grandaughter Ainsleigh, twin sister Kay Waugh, sisters Dorothy Lockerby and Joan Burwash (Bud), and brother Ted (Hazel).
He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Haidee.
Arthur was a dedicated father and grandfather, who particularly enjoyed the sporting events of his grandchildren. He served in the Canadian Military during WW II in Europe and North Africa as a member of the Food Services Unit of the Medical Corp. A trained meat cutter, he owned his own meat shop in Vernon and spent his final years as a buyer for White Spot. During his life, he volunteered for many years with the Boy Scouts of Canada. He enjoyed square dancing, swimming and playing cards. In Arthur’s final years at Hallmark Assisted Living, he enjoyed the nightly bridge and cribbage tournaments. We can say that Art lived a rich and loving life for 86 years, but he had so much more he could have shared and given to those he loved. His humour and story telling will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Arthur’s life will be held on Saturday April 30th, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church at 3845 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford, with Pastor David Hiderman officiating.
In Arthur’s memory donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion “Poppy Fund”.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. H. Wiebe and all the wonderful caregivers at Hallmark Assisted Living.
