B.J.H. “Duffy” Duffield

October 9th, 1918 – March 3, 2007

Passed away peacefully March 3, 2007 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene, son Lyle (Alta), daughter Diana and grandson Arden (Vickie).

Duffy was born on the family farm in Central Butte, Saskatchewan. He was the oldest of eight children. As a young man Duffy left the family farm and went to work in Yorkton at his uncle’s gas station. Not long after this he joined the Air Force during World War II and served for 27½ years. Upon his retirement he worked in Calgary for 10 years and then moved to Vernon, B.C. in 1982. Duffy’s retirement years were filled with friends and family, annual trips back to the Prairies, playing cribbage and tinkering. Dad was “the original recycler” with many little projects still treasured by the family.

Honouring Dad’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Always in our hearts.
