February 11th, 1942 – December 20th, 2016
Barbara passed away gently on December 20th, 2016. She suffered from the terrible Alzheimer’s disease for the past three years. She leaves to mourn, her husband Barrie of 53 years. She was his wife and soul mate through all those years, she supported him through his career, something that he will never forget. Barbara also leaves to mourn numerous friends, both here and in the United Kingdom, her brothers Cliff (Dawn), Roger (Pat), her beloved niece Dana and her nephews Alexander, Lee, Carl and Adam. She was a remarkable woman of many talents, but she will best be remembered by her work with learning and physically disabled children. Her legacy will be her work with these children. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Polson Extended Care, Dr. Waldron and to our good friends Alan and Pat Birtles, Elaine and John Walker and Gwen Holt.
There will be a service held for Barbara at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016 in the chapel of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services (4417 29th Street, Vernon, BC).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of BC (1664 Richter Street #307, Kelowna, BC V1Y 8N3).
