Surrounded by his family, Barry, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021 at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, AB.
Barry was a large man in stature and personality. If he was around, you knew it.
He did not take life too seriously, except for his time on Citizens On Patrol (Armstrong, BC), tennis and his beloved truck. His sense of humour made him many friends and a few enemies and what will be greatly missed by most.
Barry was predeceased by his first wife, Daryl and his second wife, Grace. He is survived by his daughters Laura (Wayne) Porterfield and Krista (Jeff) Leitl, stepson John (Laurie) Mullin and 8 grandchildren Mitchell Banister, Raymond Banister, Kira Leitl, Zak Leitl, Connor Mullin, Amy Mullin, Mack Porterfield and Nick Porterfield.
There will be no immediate service, but a celebration of Barry's life will be held at a later date. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the South Health Campus Hospital and the Foothills Country Hospice. Your kindness meant so much to us all.
