Benjamin David Martinez died suddenly on Friday August 5th 2005; at the young age of 37. He was a loving husband and devoted father, a flamenco enthusiast with a not so secret passion for Harley Davidsons. While Ben’s roots were here in Canada, his heart yearned for Spain, the birthplace of his parents. Ben had a love for the outdoors and as an avid hiker always looked forward to his next climb. Although skilled with computers, Ben was a craftsman at heart. This could be seen in his home renovations, restorations of classic cars and currently building a radio-controlled plane for his children.
Ben will be sorely missed by his dad Manuel (deceased mother Paquita), wife Carolyn, daughter Mia, son Liam, brother Manuel Jr. (Linda; Josh, Rafa, Una) and sister Elizabeth (John; Caleb, Joshua). Also missing Ben are his many aunts, uncles and cousins in both Spain and Ontario, his mother-in-law Patricia Corbin, many nephews, brothers and sisters in Law and countless friends; you guys know who you are.
Words can not begin to express our sorrow.
Memorial Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1424 Mission, Vernon BC, on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or to the Vernon Search and Rescue.
