Berendje (Baya) Bronk of Rainier, Alberta, beloved wife of Chris Bronk, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Rainier, on September 19th, 2005 at the age of 72 years. Born in Stedum, Holland on July 3rd, 1933 Baya received her education there. She moved to Taber, Alberta with her family in 1952 and worked as a housekeeper and in the fields of sugar beets. Baya and Chris Bronk were married in Taber on November 12th, 1954 and resided in Taber. They moved to BC in 1956 farming in various locations before moving to Rainier in July, 2005. She loved her family, gardening, flowers, people and knitting for her grandchildren. Baya will be remembered for her cooking and for the love and care she had for Chris. She was predeceased by a daughter Nancy. Baya is survived by her loving husband Chris and their 4 children, Jackie Piper and her husband Alfred of Rainier; Linda Cumming and her husband Carey of Rainier; John and his fiance Vicki Meyer of Brooks, Alberta and Wendy Cuddeback and her husband Rusty of Salmon Arm; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 8 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 23rd at 2:30 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel, Brooks. Rev. Jake Corvers officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Alfred Piper and Rusty Cuddeback. Active Pallbearers were John Bronk, Christopher Bronk, Randy Bronk, Josh Bronk, Ryan Bronk and Carey Cumming.
