It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom on August 28th, 2012 at Vernon Hospice House.

His cherished memories live on through his faithful loving wife Irene of 26 years, his children Danielle (Doug), Shawn, Grant (Sandi), Laura (Ross), Tera, Eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Don (Cecile), sister Patricia (Gary), special nephew Joe Wenisch as well as numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Tom was born in Inverness, Scotland and arrived in Canada in 1943. Raised in B.C., Tom joined the army in 1959 in Vancouver, B.C. He served with the 1st and 2nd Battalions, PPCL1 and retired as a Warrant Officer in 1979. In 1983 he joined Canada Post as a mail carrier in Calgary, AB until retiring once again in 2001.

Tom and Irene moved to Enderby, B.C. in 2004 where he proudly served as a “Sergeant at Arms” at the Armstrong Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #35.

A memorial service for Tom will be held Thursday, September 6th at 1:30 pm at the Armstrong Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #35 (2526- Pleasant Valley Blvd, Armstrong B.C.)

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to North Okanagan Hospice (3506-27th Ave. Vernon, BC V1T-1S4) or Royal Canadian Legion, Armstrong, Branch #35 (2526 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Armstrong, BC V0E-1B0)
