It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Bernie Kaempf on Sept. 6, 2004 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital at age 60 yrs. Bernie immigrated to Canada in 1967. Settling in Vernon in 1971, he was employed by Riverside Forest Products until his retirement in October, 2003. He will always be lovingly remembered by his family: wife, Ursula; daughter, Tamara Gawne (Brad), Nelson; son Frank (Tanya) Kaempf, Vernon; four grandchildren: Tyler, Dustin, Keefer and Jordan; sister, Gabi (Peter) Puchta, Germany; nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Bernie enjoyed all the adventure and freedoms Canada had to offer and lived them to the fullest. At the same time, he loved to explore destinations abroad. He was involved for many years with the Edelweiss Society and the Vernon Stamp Club. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Trinity United Church, Alexis Park Dr., Thursday, Sept. 9 at 1:30 pm. Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Cremation.
