Odel Bernice Ogi (nee DeLeeuw)

Odel passed away at her residence on September 15th, 2019 with her loving husband by her side. She had endured a long battle with cancer and is now at peace.
Odel leaves behind her husband, Leroy; her children, Rosemarie (Rick) and Dawna (Jamie); three grandchildren, Nathan (Lindsay), Amanda (James) and Leah (Allan); four great-grandchildren, Ryker, Makia, Tealya and Grant; three brothers, Frank, Marcel (Alice) and Fred (Lynda); two sisters-in-law, Alvina and Violet; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers and one sister-in-law, Albert, John, Raymond and Arthur (Eleanor).
Odel was the Catering Manager for the Village Green Hotel for many years and later managed the kitchen at Spallumcheen Golf Club. She was an excellent cook and loved catering weddings, banquets and parties. For years she was a member of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Ladies Auxiliary as well as a life member of the Lumby & District Wildlife Club. Being outdoors camping and hunting were her favourite pastimes. She always had gourmet meals at the campsite for not just her family, but welcomed anyone passing through. Odel passed on her knowledge of hunting and outdoor skills to her grandchildren.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Odel's Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor Dithmar Molzahn officiating. A Reception will follow in the Bethel Tea Room. At the conclusion of the Reception Odel will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
