It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha (Obermayr) Livadney on August 6, 2006, surrounded by family and the wonderful staff of Vernon Hospice House. Bertha was born and raised near Beauvallon, Alberta. She married Edward Livadney on February 18, 1943, and together they took up farming near the family homestead in southeastern Saskatchewan. In 1983 they retired and moved to Westbank, B.C., where they lived until moving to Armstrong in May of 1993.
Bertha was a deeply devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved people and could always find something good in everyone. She enjoyed nature and animals – some of her hobbies were looking at pictures, scrapbooking, gardening, painting, sewing, and reading (especially her Bible).
Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 2001, sister Hilda, brother Bernard, brother Frank, and grandson, Conrad.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by sons, Don (Margaret) of Terrace, Loanne (Norman) of Armstrong, Yvonne (Ernie) of Cochrane, Alberta, and Jerry (Kandice) of Lacombe, Alberta, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Elsie, of Beauvallon, Alberta, and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 10, 2006, in the Armstrong Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Patten Drive, Armstrong. Interment will take place in the family plot in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Dry Valley Road, Kelowna. In memory of Bertha, donations may be made to the Vernon & District Hospice Society, 3506 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4.
