Bessie Viola Bertram passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Friday, August 11, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Bessie was born at Big Valley, Alberta on January 21, 1922 and had resided in the Enderby area since 1976. Bessie had been an active member with the United Church Ladies, Enderby Senior Citizens’ Centre, Square Dancing and card clubs. Bessie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Bernie; three sons, Jim (Rita) of Kamloops, Blaine (Tink) of Malakwa and Richard (Sandi) of Enderby; grandchildren, Trevor, Melanie (Chad), Nadine (Ken), Jaime (Leanne), Alan (Fran), Genieve and Reid; great grandchildren, Jacob, Blaine and Tyson. Also remembered by stepsister Louise Frame and family, numerous nieces, nephews, especially Wayne and Sandi’s family, Gene, Megan, Toni and Liv. Interment of Bessie’s cremated remains will take place at Cliffside Cemetery on Friday, August 18th at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service from the Enderby Senior Citizens’ Centre at 11:00 am with the Reverend Canon Ray Bray officiating. If so desired, contributions in memory of Bessie may be made to the charity of your choice.
