March 2, 1920 – June 12, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Campbell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Agnes Wright, husbands, Jack Vecqueray and Donald Campbell, sister Helen and son David.

She is survived by son, Brian Vecqueray, daughters, Brenda (Lorne) Witala, Donna Fenwick, companion Watty. Grandchildren, Ted, David Jr., Christopher, Kelly, Samantha, Kimberly, Jacqueline, Erin, Ashley, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was born in Vernon and lived most of her life here. In 1946, Betty joined the Vernon Temple of the Pythian Sisters and was a dedicated member for 67 years, serving the community. Betty enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many countries, her favourite being New Zealand. Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing, camping and spending time with family and friends. She lived life to the fullest, her calendar was always full with events and special occasions for her to attend.

The family is grateful to the wonderful staff at Heritage Square for their exceptional care of Mom during her stay there.

Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us every day.

No longer in our lives to share,

But in our hearts she is always there.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Trinity United Church, 3300 Alexis Park Drive, Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society or the charity of your choice.
