Betty Lou Bailey

Born January 31, 1942, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Betty Lou Bailey passed away peacefully in Vernon Hospice House, February 26, 2007, aged sixty-five. She and husband George moved from Falkland in 1996, made Vernon their home and were active in First Baptist Church. Betty was cherished by her friends and loved dearly by her family. She loved to “do for others” and will be remembered by many whose lives were touched by her care and consideration. Predeceased by: husband George, 2005; father Arnold Cowles, 1996. Memories of Betty are left in the hearts of: her mother, Dorothy Cowles of Vernon; her children, Duane (Kelly) of Abbotsford, Darren (Tricia) of Agassiz, Florence (Ken) of Ucluelet, Gina of Errington, Ed (Lyn) of Nanaimo, Greg (Glenda) of Grande Prairie, Rod of Parksville, Vivian (Dean) of Dawson Creek; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others. Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at First Baptist Church, corner of 15th Street and 32nd Avenue, Vernon, with the Rev. Karl Janzen officiating. Reception to follow at the church. At 3:00 p.m., a Service of Interment of cremated remains will be held at the Falkland Cemetery, led by the Rev. Eva Kettle.
