It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of our mother, Betty Lucille Vogan in the Hamlets at Vernon, having reached the age of 90 years. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Edward "Pat" and Thelma Marie (Wood) Moynan but spent most of her adult life living in B.C.
Betty leaves behind her four children, Deborah (Glenn) Scheske, James (Cindy) Vogan, Margaret (Greg) Kitchen and Tammy (Steve Barbour) Vogan; her son-in-law, Dave Cooper; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vogan; and her eldest daughter, Darcy Cooper.
Betty Lou lived her last fifteen years in Vernon and most recently at the Hamlets where, due to COVID-19 the staff became her surrogate family. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the staff at the Hamlets for the care that she received while living there.
We also wish to thank private caregivers, Brittany, Laura and Diane, who lovingly cared for Mom in her final years. Many thanks to Dr. Louise van Zyl for her attentive and excellent care whenever Mom needed her.
Betty was a feisty soul who loved to laugh. She loved her family and was very proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.
In respecting Betty's wishes, she was cremated and a private family gathering will take place at a later time.
Cremation arrangements were made with Bethel Funeral Chapel Ltd., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5
