Betty passed away peacefully in the North Okanagan Hospice on Friday, October 31st, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was an active and cherished member of the community for many years, and will always be remembered for her love of music and singing. Betty was a member of The Vernon Community Singers, the Trinity Chancel Choir as well as her beloved Minervas in Armstrong.
Betty is survived by her husband Peter, to whom she was married for 68 years; and her brother, Bruce (Gaye) Miller. Peter and Betty have six children: BettyAnne (Les), Marie, Patty (Jim), Michael (Susan), Sue and Diana; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of dear and long time friends. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Mona; one brother, Charlie; and one great-grandson, Cameron Davis.
A Celebration Of Betty’s Life will take place at Trinity United Church on Sunday, November 9th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Thompson and Reverend Warren Bruleigh officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Betty to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C.
