Beverley passed on peacefully at the age of 73 years with her family by her side on November 30th, 2016 after a long battle with dementia.

She is survived by her husband Zane, of 47 years; two children, Cora-lee Lackie (Victoria Athena) and Tyler Hersak and his wife, Allyn (Stella) (Luke) of Victoria, and her sister, Barbara Emel of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Beverley was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Eleanor Bachiu of Limerick, Saskatchewan.

Beverley was born in Montreal and later moved to Limerick, Saskatchewan where she grew up and eventually became a Registered Nurse. She nursed for 45 years in various provinces with the last place being in Vernon at Polson Extended Care Facility. Beverley was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed many hobbies which included ceramics, knitting, quilting, and baking and keeping fit at curves. Throughout her life she made friends very quickly. She was always so wonderful with her energy and had the largest heart for everyone around her. She could always light up the room with joy with her beautiful smile and large brown eyes. She will be sadly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, friends and relatives.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the sympathetic care Beverley received by the staff of Villa B at Creekside Landing Care Facility.

In respecting Beverley’s wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Tea Room.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make memorial contributions in memory of Beverley may do so to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
