We are deeply saddened by the passing of Beverly “Jill” Ziemer at the North Okanagan Hospice on December 11, 2016 at the age of 70.

Jill was predeceased by her father, James W. Green.  Jill is survived by Lorne, her loving husband of 43 years and her sons Chad (Stephanie) and Scott (Allison). Jill is also lovingly remembered by her mother Katherine Green and by her brother Gary (Florence). Jill was devoted to her grandchildren Julian, Talyn, Riley and Ty and her nephews, Mike and Jon. She is also fondly remembered by Lorne’s sister Wendy and brother Brad and their families.

Jill was born in Liverpool, England in 1946, before coming to Canada at a very early age. Her family settled in Vernon, where she grew up and excelled as an honour roll student. She was also a princess in the Vernon Winter Carnival. Jill studied at the University of British Columbia and then touched thousands of young people’s lives as an inspiring teacher for over 30 years in Coquitlam, New Westminster and Burnaby. After retiring Jill and Lorne spent a wonderful 13 years at Big Bar Lake, moving back to Vernon last spring.

Jill had many talents and was particular-ly accomplished expressing her artistry through her painting, quilting, sewing, knitting and culinary skills. A truly creative Renaissance woman, Jill’s kind, generous and caring nature will be missed by all who loved her.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Jill may do so to the BC Cancer Society or the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home, Phone: 250 542 0155. Condolences may be offered at www.vernonfuneralhome.com
