It is with sad but full hearts that his family wishes to announce that Bill was called home to be with Jesus.
He will be forever loved and missed by his children Pamela Sevedra, Faith (Craig) Black, Hope (Greg) Neufeld, Charity (Ernst) Van Gameren, Karl (Kia) Houston, Donna (Ken) Herrewynen and his grandchildren Andrea, Josiah, Nathan, Paul, Jeremiah, Jesse, Vanessa, Jenae, Joshua, Kaylie, Daniel, Kyle, Nya and Misha. Great grandchildren Malachi and Kyson.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Esther, his brother Otis, his sister Fran Sandridge, his parents Ora and Herman Houston.
Bill was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas and moved with his family to Central California as a young boy. He served in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. Bill followed in his father’s footsteps and became an ordained minister in 1962 sharing his love for God through out the US, Canada and abroad. Bill was also a barber for 30 years in California and 16 years in Vernon, B.C.
Bill met the love of his life Esther (Keber) on a trip to the “beautiful Okanagan” where they later married. Bill’s love was poured into his children and grandchildren. The walls of his home were covered with pictures of his family and he talked about them with pride and joy where ever he went.
A private burial with family preceded a Celebration of Life Service which will be held at the Vernon Alliance Church on Saturday July 11th, 2015 at 10AM.
As an expression of Sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Bill to: Nuu Rain Inc. Box 1046 Nipawin, SK, S0E 1E0. This is a home for Women and Children with HIV and AIDS (Thailand). Bill had a big heart and love for Missions and helping those in need.
