After a brief but valiant battle with cancer, Brent Henderson, beloved husband of Susan Egan, loving son of Joan and Beau Henderson, devoted father of Christine (Frantz) and Debbie (Brent) and step-father of Charly (Dion) and Chris, brother of Greig (Erica) and Deane (Barb), passed away at the Vernon Hospice, surrounded by his family and friends.
Brent lived life to the fullest. An avid skier and mountain biker, he loved adventure. Self-proclaimed youngest Beatles fan, he inspired all with his passion for music and talent for playing the piano and picking up any instrument almost overnight.
His humour put everyone at ease and made him instant friends. Easy-going, gentle and profound, Brent deeply touched the lives of those who knew him. Brent was also deeply devoted to his work as Vice President of Rogers Foods. Prior to that, he spent a number of years at Tolko and Resolute Forest Products. He always thought of his co-workers as friends.
He grew up in North Vancouver where he earned his CMA before eventually settling in Vernon.
Brent's Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm, February 17th, at Trinity United Church, followed by a reception.
Those wishing to do so may make a donation in Brent's memory to Vernon Hospice or to the BC Cancer Foundation.
The family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Ansdell (and Eloise) and Dr. Humpreys, and all the doctors, nurses, and staff, with special thanks to Catherine, Sarah, Marleigh, Michelle and Grace, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital and at the Vernon Hospice.
