Bridget Lutgen (Nee Stang)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Bridget Lutgen, on Saturday, June 17th, 2017.

Bridget was born on December 24th 1930 in the small Community of Macklin, Saskatchewan. She lived on the farm with her 14 Brothers and Sisters and attended the Bride School in Macklin. As the oldest of 5 girls, she left school in grade 4 to help on the farm and at the age of 8 was helping her mother bake 40 loaves of bread a week, gardening and canning and taking care of her younger siblings. In 1944 the family moved to Donalda Alberta to continue farming, and ended up in Edmonton in 1951. Bridget met her husband Norman and they married on July 28th 1952. After many years of living in Heisler, Alberta, they moved the family to Vernon in 1969. Bridget loved to bake, her bread and cinnamon rolls were legendary. She was an avid card player and loved to dance. Bridget was happiest when all of her kids were home to visit and especially loved hosting Christmas and Easter.

Bridget is predeceased by her Husband Norman, 5 sisters, 5 brothers and her granddaughter Mandy. She is survived by 4 brothers and her children Edward, Randy (Pat), Doug (Christine), Shirley (Randy), Rick (Tina), Norman (Romy). She has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was especially close to her friend Wally and we would like to thank him for his many years of friendship.

I’ll give you a daisy a daisy, I’ll give you a daisy a day, I’ll love you until the river runs still, and the four winds we know blow away. We love you mom.
