Carl Joachim Romer

Carl Joachin Romer was born on May 7th, 1925 in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1950, settling in Vernon, B.C. where he resided until his death on May 26th, 2010.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Randy (Gigi) Romer, Monica (Richard) Adamack and Michelle (Bob Cail) Romer; his grandchildren, Nick and Ben Adamack; his sister, Maria Schmid; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara in 1993; and three brothers, Klaus, Fritz and Ulrich.

Carl worked at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital as Dispatch Manager and retired in 1988. He was an active member of the community, serving as a member of the Jaycees, an Alderman for the City Of Vernon, Deputy Volunteer Fire Chief and Advisory Planning Commission Chairman.

Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Carl’s Life which will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Monday, May 31st, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Murv Kentel officiating. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Carl to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation, 1589 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C.
