Carl Spicer


Carl Leroy Spicer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at the Vernon & District Hospice House on Monday, April 30, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer.

Carl was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 5, 1932. He leaves to morn him his loving wife and best friend Sylvia of Vernon; daughters Cindy of Armstrong, Debbie of Victoria and Jeannie of Hamilton; sons Byron (Colleen) of Nanaimo, Kevin and Randy both of Courtney; brother Robert (Joyce) of Toronto; grandchildren Yvonne (Chris) and his newest great-granddaughter Izabella of Nanaimo, Marly of Edmonton, Mathew of Victoria and Sara of Whistler. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family in Ontario and California.

Carl’s loves were golfing, bowling, going to the casino and traveling with his beloved wife. His passion was for Al Jolson and Jackie Gleason and everyone will always remember him for his Jackie Gleason impression “How sweet it is”.

No service by request, a family gathering will be held at a future date. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carl may be made to the Vernon & District Hospice House who helped make Carl’s journey a peaceful one.
